Dataverse connects in different ways APIs, webhooks, eventing.

HOW useful is Dataverse :

A Dataverse database supports large data sets .Dataverse can extend the storage in many instances .

  • The amount of data that is available in your instance of Microsoft Dataverse is based upon the number and type of licenses that are associated with it.
  • Data storage is pooled between all licensed users, so you can allocate storage as needed for each solution that you build.
  • Additional storage can be purchased if you need more storage than what is offered within standard licensing.

Tip to remember — Microsoft :
Dataverse supports transactional multi-user applications, where quick response to user demand is the priority. It is not intended to be a platform for long running or batch processing.

There are restrictions on accessing data in Dataverse. Power Apps apps and flows that are using Power Automate can only connect to data with a single instance of Dataverse. You cannot connect to an instance of Dataverse in an environment outside of the environment that you are currently working in.

Dynamics 365 Finance, Dynamic 365 Supply Chain Management, and Dynamics 365 Retail currently require the configuration of the Data Integrator to make your business data available within Dataverse.

HOW Dataverse table looks like ?

Power App > Data > Table
Power App > Data connection > Dataverse

Types of Tables:

Standard Table — The base set of tables that are created for every instance of a Microsoft Dataverse database. You can add more columns to any table, but you can only delete columns from a custom table.

Complex Table— Tables that contain complex, server-side business logic, including real-time workflows or plug-ins. Some of the tables that are used in Dynamics 365 applications are complex.

Restricted Table — Certain tables that are tied to Dynamics 365 application functionalities require each user to have the corresponding license for that Dynamics 365 application if they want to create, update, or delete rows within the restricted tables.

Custom Table — Are created for a specific business application. All licensed users of Dataverse can access custom tables if they are assigned proper security permissions to do so.

Table Relationships :

One-to-many relationships: In a one-to-many (1:N) table relationship, many related table records are associated with a single primary table record in a parent/child relationship.

Many-to-many relationships: In a many-to-many (N:N) table relationship, many table records are associated with many other table records. Records that are related through N:N table relationships are considered peers.
